Innovative Wax Emulsion Technology Empowers Upgrades in Textile and Packaging Industries, with Multiple Application Cases Demonstrating Excellent Performance
August 13, 2025
Recently, a wax emulsion product integrating multiple advantages has sparked an application boom in textile, packaging, coating, and other industries. With its excellent stability, lubricity, and film-forming properties, it provides a new solution for enterprises to solve production pain points and improve product quality, becoming a "secret weapon" for quality and efficiency improvement in various fields.
In the textile industry, a large knitting enterprise has long been troubled by frequent needle hole issues during cotton yarn sewing and insufficient fabric strength. By introducing this wax emulsion as an anti-needle-hole agent and strength protectant, the enterprise has achieved significant optimization of its production process. After adding the wax emulsion at a dosage of 10-30g/L using the "dip-roll and dry" process, needle hole problems have been basically eliminated, and the sewing smoothness of fabrics has increased by more than 40%. In the strength protection process, when used in combination with resin, catalyst, and other components, after baking at 140-170℃, the tear strength of fabrics has increased by 25%, the abrasion resistance has been significantly enhanced, and the product qualification rate has jumped from 82% to 98%.
The packaging and printing field has also witnessed quality upgrades due to the application of this wax emulsion. A packaging material enterprise added the wax emulsion at a ratio of 10%-50% in the production of water-based adhesives, working synergistically with EVA emulsion and tackifying resin. This successfully solved the problems of insufficient holding viscosity and poor high and low-temperature resistance in packaging lamination. Tests show that the improved adhesives can maintain stable viscosity in environments ranging from -20℃ to 60℃, the peel strength of laminated products such as BOPP films and PE films has increased by 30%, and the qualification rate of edge sealing has reached 100%. In water-based glazing processes, adding 8%-10% of the wax emulsion as a brightener has increased paper surface gloss by 20%, significantly enhanced abrasion resistance, and completely solved the problem of scuffing during the storage of printed products.
The floor care industry has also benefited significantly. A building materials enterprise compounded the wax emulsion with styrene-acrylic polymer dispersions to produce floor wax. The coating surface formed by the resulting product is dry and bright, with anti-tyre mark performance improved by more than 50%. Thanks to the optimized hardness and toughness brought by the wax emulsion, the service life of the floor wax has been extended to 1.5 times that of the original, performing particularly well in high-traffic commercial scenarios.
It is understood that this wax emulsion, as a cationic/non-ionic oil-in-water emulsion, features low foam, easy removability, and resistance to acids, alkalis, and salts. It is compatible with various additives and has excellent performance in yarn lubrication, polyurethane coating, printing ink, and other fields. Its flexible application processes and wide applicability are helping enterprises in various industries achieve technological upgrading and product innovation, injecting new impetus into the high-quality development of industries.
